Emperor Katsuya walked with his team of Royal Guards into a field where the Samukanian army was preparing to attack Ethan Foley soldiers. A large, dark-skinned man with a gold-trimmed uniform and a purple sash. First-General Bartley. The general clenched his right hand into a fist and placed it over his heart; the Samukanian salute.
"General Bartley," Katsuya said.
"Your highness," Bartley replied. "We are currently preparing to fight the enemy. General Jaydon is preparing to launch nuclear missiles with the hope of breaking whatever is powering the shields. If that doesn't work, we'll just have to wait until the shields go down before attacking. They shouldn't be able to attack us until their shields are lowered."
"Thank you, Bartley. Continue with your plan."
"Sir? May I ask why you are visiting us personally?"
"Communications in the palace have been shut down with the EMP, and we fear that the palace's security has been compromised without electricity. A moving target is harder to hit, but with at least damaged equipment on the Azerian ships, I do not feel that we will be spotted."
"You will be careful, sir?"
"Of course. It's a stealth jet, anyways."
Katsuya and the Royal Guard boarded the jet once again, which took off to Jakeopia. Once Katsuya arrived there half an hour later, he was met with soldiers running around frantically, trying to re-establish organization. A tall man wearing a gold-trimmed uniform with a blue sash approached and saluted Katsuya.
"Second-General Andrews, report."
"Sir, we are currently re-establishing order to the Jakeopian military. Unfortunately, enemy soldiers managed to steal some aircraft in the confusion. We will still be able to manage without them, but it shows you the chaos that's going on around here."
"What progress has been made?"
"We have integrated the Samukanian ranking system, and we are currently assigning new positions to the soldiers. We should be fully prepared within the hour."
"Good. Be sure to set up a patrol on the border." Katsuya climbed back onto the jet, which headed towards eastern Samukan.
"General Bartley," Katsuya said.
