Last Edit: Aug 31, 2015 23:06:36 GMT by saphlua: Edit to post-script concerning the rocket-tube
Nation Name: The Community of Saphlua
Head of State: Ashotē Virendis, to be succeeded by Talivir Virendis. (Note: These names are not entirely accurate as some of the characters cannot be written in the English alphabet, and are unique to the language.)
Largest City: Tathē
Capital City: Tathē
Climate: Temperate
Colony or native settlers?: Native populace
Technologies used in your nation circa 1330: Bows and arrows, spears, war-staffs, agriculture and animal domestication, sophisticated pyrotechnics (ex. fireworks, rocket-tubes, fire-spitters), paper, basic democratic government/council, fishing, boats, weaving, simple currency made of obsidian flakes, armor made from bark and furs, written language. (Fairly undeveloped for the time period. Would later be introduced to more modern technology: 15th century)
P.S. A rocket-tube was a firework placed in a hollowed log and fired at an enemy: a kind of primitive cannon: and although it was not very accurate, the nature of a firework meant that accuracy was not necessary - it would be incredibly destructive to anything nearby. The log had to be the appropriate thickness when hollowed out, but if it was, it was resilient enough to be used many times. A fire-spitter was a primitive "flamethrower": a type of firework that shot out sparks when lit. It was not usually used as a weapon because it was extremely dangerous to use, especially to the person holding it, because it had a danger of exploding. It was more often used for celebrations.
Geography: Forested, with several open valleys and a mountain range on the western border.
